Regardless of the strategy or approach,  your Family Education Therapist will model and support you through each stage of your child’s development.

Next Step Program

Foundations for Learning Tutor:

After 3-6 months of accessing the Discovery Program some children are ready for the next step of running an independent learning program. The Next Step Program is a home based education program where therapists either work one on one or with small peer groups of children. Your child’s individually written program will teach play, communication, social and academic skills through repetition and motivating activities.  Your child’s program will be tailored to meet your family and child’s individual needs. This is an inclusive program so learning goals and activities can be easily adapted to suit the Kindergarten or school programs.
Parents have described these sessions as resembling normal play.  These combine one on one skills at the table (direct teaching), playing games, arts and crafts and cooking, fine/gross motor et.  This makes it great fun for all participants.  And without realizing it the child is learning goals set in his/her program.
