Based in Melbourne Australia, Autism Action was founded by Siân Williams in 2005. Her belief was and still is that parents are the core influencers for their child’s well being. Through her work as an Autism specialist class room teacher and a home based Autism intervention teacher in rural Victoria, she witnessed first hand the disempowering of parents and their frustration with ‘under funded’home based government services. She resolved to change this situation to re-empower families by offering personal weekly home based support.
Autism Action also aims to bridge the gap that exists between the home environment and the other specialist services a child typically uses. This allows Autism Action to provide a holistic and multi disciplinary team approach to a child’s learning needs or if better suited to the family and child, a transdisciplinary approach.  What this means is each therapist combines speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavior modification, education to enhance your child learning style.
